River Data InformationSTRU (est. 2020)
With a dedicated team of 126+ trained volunteers, including 55 who test regularly (and another 20 awaiting training),
STRU has built one of the most comprehensive community-led datasets on the River Usk.
To date, we have collected over 5,000 samples, making STRU the largest single source of River Usk data ever gathered.

What We Test For
- Phosphate
- Nitrate
- Temperature
- Electrical Conductivity (EC)
- Turbidity
- Ammonia
- 55+ active testing locations along the River Usk
- Over 4 years (48+ months) of continuous data collection

New Data
Our data Analyst Robin Masefield has compiled these Graphs from our samples collected to Demonstrate proportion that fail the phosphate target set by Natural Resources Wales.
Each graph is the time series of samples for a single site, ordered by date sampled on the x axis (along the bottom), showing where the phosphate threshold is and how many samples fail.

"4 Year Update"
Please find data graphs from our recent 4 year update meeting.
We have gathered over 5,000 samples over 4 years at 55 locations along the River Usk and it tributaries .
Look at the red line which shows where it should be and actually where it is.
Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers and our data analysts who give there time to protect our River .
